VOSA Accessibility

Ease of use

We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology and including those who have visual, hearing, motor and cognitive impairments. We are actively working to reach conformance levels from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). There may be some pages that do not conform to all the guidelines. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the site conforms, this is an ongoing process.

If you do find any accessibility barriers that affect or prevent your use of the site, please let us know by contacting us.

Access Keys

Access keys allow easy navigation of the website and are intended to help users who have difficulty in using pointing devices, such as a mouse.

The access keys used on this site are:

S = Skip to Content

1 = Home Page

5 = Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

6 = Help

0 = Accessibility

c = Contact Us

Depending on your browser type there are different ways to activate this function, although please note that these features are not supported by all browsers.

A 'Skip Navigation' facility has been provided on this site for the benefit of users with screen readers. It can be implemented by using the skip navigation access key, allowing the user to bypass the navigation areas and go directly to that page's main content.

Increasing text size

Some users might find screen text easier to read by increasing the size at which text is displayed. To do this you should simply adjust your browser's settings.

If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the ‘View’ menu, select ‘Text Size’ and then either ‘Larger’ or ‘Largest’.

If you use Firefox, Mozilla or Safari, go to the ‘View’ menu and choose ‘Increase Font’ until the text is the size you require.

Changing colours

Changing the site's background colour can be particularly useful for users who rely on magnification technology as white can produce an uncomfortable glare. It is also possible to change the colour of body text on the site. Both can be achieved by changing preferences in your browser:

If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer:

  1. Go to the ‘Tools’ menu
  2. Select ‘Internet Options’
  3. Select ‘Colors’ and make changes to text and background colours in the ‘Colors’ panel.

If you use Firefox:

  1. Go to the ‘Tools’ menu
  2. Select ‘Options’
  3. Select the ‘Content’ tab
  4. Make changes to text and background colours in the ‘Fonts & Colours’ panel
